Area of application
Ultra-lightweight medium-density fibreboards for use under non-bearing dry conditions and particularly for interior decoration and furniture production.
MDF with a low density of 450 to 550 Kg/m³ with smoothly sanded, fine surface. Suitable for interior decoration and thermal insulation. Can be finished with paper and composite lay-ups. Ultra-lightweight medium-density fibreboards are made of 100 % coniferous wood and do not have any coarse fibres on the surface. The boards are very easy to mill and have sufficiently high screw strength.
Ultra-lightweight medium-density fibreboards meet the requirements of the California Air Resource Board (CARB - phase 2). Formaldehyde emission is below 0.11 ppm according to ASTM E 1333-96, which complies with CARB, phase 2, as stipulated by ACTM. The boards do not contain isocyanates and phenolic glues.
Using the product
The boards must be used only according to use class 1 (restrictions for ambient temperature and humidity) and hazard class 1, EN 335-3. The boards must have no direct contact with water. Any stacking must be done quickly on a pallet or with a sufficient number of crossbeams. Boards must not be stored upright unless floor contact can be ruled out. Under fluctuating humidity conditions, the boards either expand or shrink. Use suitable tools for sawing, milling and drilling.
Dimensions and stock program
Thickness: 12 to 38 mm standard – other thicknesses available upon request. Max. width and length: 244–255 to 630 cm. Spanolux has high capacity saws and can provide all dimensions. The pressing capacities generally enable delivery of all thicknesses, lengths and widths.
